Notes Help says it works

HCL Notes/Domino 8.5 Forum (includes Notes Traveler)

Let's make these work again since
1) Many of us have used this previously since it was available in previous releases and
2) The documentation that ships with 8.5 states that both 123 and Microsoft Excel are supported!!
